Residents of Selangor
Cheshire Home will meet once a month to discuss issues,
programmes, problems that they want their representatives
to bring up at the Home, Administration and Welfare
Committee meeting.
They stay in rooms of
4 or 2 persons. Selangor Cheshire Home can accommodate
about 42 persons maximum. We have residents who can
wash their clothes, clean their rooms and go to work
from the Home. We also have residents who are dependent
and require assistance in all activities.
Some of our residents
go out to work in the open market, some are involved
in small business, some are attached at our sheltered
or supported workshops, some are involved in the new
training programme that Selangor Cheshire had embarked
in namely the Economic Empowerment Programme (Readiness
for Employment Programme).
We also have those
who do not work but will be taken for activities in
the afternoon as their mornings all will be involved
in the Physio Department and group physical exercise
or to keep their monthly hospital appointments.
